Big fat lie. 'Arsenal sign Messi' rumour did trend on Twitter - but it's just a Tube picture
Arsenal fans - and the Twitter community as a whole were royally duped into thinking Lionel Messi was set to be the biggest shock on transfer. While hardly a unique flash of genius, or being all that original, the 'Arsenal sign Messi' gag certainly raised a few chuckles - as well as giving fans of their Premier League rivals another chance to ridicule the under-the-weather Gunners supporters.
