457 Nigerians languish in Brazilian prisons - Abike Dabiri

Rep Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee
on Diaspora, says 457 Nigerians, including a 72-year-old woman, Fausat Abosede are languishing in
various prisons in Brazil. Dabiri-Erewa told newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday, that the committee had visited Brazil and was touched by the pitiable condition of the inmates. “We were touched by the psychological traumas that the inmates
were going through, despite the cleanliness and orderliness of the prison environment,” she said. She said the visit was prompted by a hint it got from a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Youth without Borders, led by two Nigerians, Taiwo and Kehinde Afolabi.

KIM K decides to sue attacker

 (Kim after powder attack)

Kim Kardashian is having second thoughts about pursuing legal action against the prankster who showered her in flour on the red carpet on Thursday.
The socialite was left red-faced and covered in white powder after a bag of flour was dumped on her while she was chatting to reporters at a glamorous West Hollywood event.
After the incident, Kardashian admitted she had no plans to sue her attacker as she has a number of ongoing legal battles, including disputes over a weight-loss drug and a hair-removal product she endorses.
She quipped, “Don’t I have one too many lawsuits going on right now? Do you think I really need to add another one?” But now the reality TV star is seriously reconsidering pressing charges. “I said earlier no I wasn’t (going to lodge a complaint). I am just going to think about it, because I don’t want someone to think they can really get away with that. So we are going to handle that.

No Messi for Arsenal

Big fat lie. 'Arsenal sign Messi' rumour did trend on Twitter - but it's just a Tube picture
Arsenal fans - and the Twitter community as a whole were royally duped into thinking Lionel Messi was set to be the biggest shock on transfer. While hardly a unique flash of genius, or being all that original, the 'Arsenal sign Messi' gag certainly raised a few chuckles - as well as giving fans of their Premier League rivals another chance to ridicule the under-the-weather Gunners supporters.

WTF!!! Nigerians spend billions on drugs despite poverty.

NDLEA seizes N31b drugs in just 3 months.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it successfully seized narcotic drugs worth N31 billion and arrested 8,639 suspected drug traffickers in 2011.
A total of 195,283.917 kilogrames of various drugs were equally traced and seized from drug traffickers across the country.
Cannabis Sativa, otherwise known as hemp, constitutes the largest seizure with 191,847.91 kilogrammes.
Psychotropic substances are 2,985.45 kilogrammes; cocaine is 410.805 kilogrammes while heroin is 39.752 kilogrammes.
Chairman/Chief Executive of the anti-drug Agency, Ahmadu Giade, said that the period under review was historic and challenging.
In his words: “Notwithstanding the paucity of funds, general resource shortages and logistic constraints as well as increased sophistication of drug barons, several high profile arrests and seizures were recorded in 2011.
"Estimated value of seized drugs is about 31 billion naira, thus making drug control a priority concern."
On the arrest table, Giade stated that Kano State apprehended the highest number of suspects with 1,281 persons all males.

I will marry when the time is right - Susan Peters

Susan Peters is one of the most talented actresses in Nollywood. She hardly does interviews, but she recently spoke with yours truly. The big arguments we had was her age. A woman does not like to divulge their age, but what do you do when her date of birth is glaringly on Wikipedia. The actress is charming and very smart. Here is the question and answer session
You bear the same name with one of the best Hollywood actress that ever lived; do you try to emulate her sometimes?
It’s just a coincidence. I emulate no one, I am me and I act me.
Some even think you changed your name to hers
No, never. That has been my name ever since. I would have used my middle name too but they always spelt it wrongly so i stuck with Susan Peters. Why would I want to change my name?
Is it true you grew up in a large family?
Well, Susan Peters is an average Nigerian girl from an average home. I am from a family of eight. We were actually 11 but we lost three. I am the third child with five younger siblings. They live in Kaduna. My dad is a retiree from the Nigerian Air Force and my mum is a housewife.
