WTF!!! Nigerians spend billions on drugs despite poverty.

NDLEA seizes N31b drugs in just 3 months.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency said it successfully seized narcotic drugs worth N31 billion and arrested 8,639 suspected drug traffickers in 2011.
A total of 195,283.917 kilogrames of various drugs were equally traced and seized from drug traffickers across the country.
Cannabis Sativa, otherwise known as hemp, constitutes the largest seizure with 191,847.91 kilogrammes.
Psychotropic substances are 2,985.45 kilogrammes; cocaine is 410.805 kilogrammes while heroin is 39.752 kilogrammes.
Chairman/Chief Executive of the anti-drug Agency, Ahmadu Giade, said that the period under review was historic and challenging.
In his words: “Notwithstanding the paucity of funds, general resource shortages and logistic constraints as well as increased sophistication of drug barons, several high profile arrests and seizures were recorded in 2011.
"Estimated value of seized drugs is about 31 billion naira, thus making drug control a priority concern."
On the arrest table, Giade stated that Kano State apprehended the highest number of suspects with 1,281 persons all males.
