Aneke twins to drag DSTV to court

Popular Nollywood twins, Chidimma and Chidiebere Aneke have dragged the management of Multichoice Nigeria to a law court for allegedly showing one their movie Compulsory Risk without permission. We also censored the movie, compulsory risk at National Film and Video Censors Board(NFVCB), Onitsha, Anambra State, on the 11the of September 2009. We Released the movie in December 2009. It is our movie and we have all the documents to prove it,” she said. They claim that Mnet had aired the same film without their notice, and they were not compensated for it. Finally, Emeka Ike clears air on school closure

Emeka Ike can now breathe with relief now that his school St. Nicholas College is back in business at the same venue No. 1, Raji Olamideji Crescent, Magodo, after he was evicted weeks back, he has blamed the landlord for the impasse and said that the school nor himself is bankrupt. There was new all over the internet two weeks ago that he was broke and cannot afford to run his school anymore. Box office had tried to reach him all the while but he refused to respond
The actor during the week finally responded through a spokesperson, Great Imo. Imo said this through a release,  “Like we have stated, St. Nicholas College was never shut by any authority. So, please disregard the report in the social media. There is a calculated attempt here to run down respected Nigerian celebrities who have their names to protect. The school is still there, pending when it will move to its permanent site. Emeka Ike is not just an A-list actor, he is a brand. If you go to South Africa, Britain, France and the US, his opinion about Nigeria counts. He is one man who represents the country well. So, why must he be rubbished by faceless writers?
We say in totality the story is false. Yes, there was an issue arising from a kangaroo court judgement which has been vacated because the possession of the said property is still in the care of Emeka Ike. The school was never shut at any time.

St. Nicholas College is still there, because that is where Emeka Ike has taken a long lease. The school signboard is still there because that is where the Lagos State government gazetted the school. We have not announced any relocation. If there is any development, we would tell you. Schools are in session. Those saying otherwise are deliberately undermining the millions the school owners have invested there over the years. Emeka Ike has invested millions of naira in the school so as to give the best education to Nigerians.”

SSS releases Paparazzi publishers

I reported yesterday that the publishers of Paparazzi magazine were being detained and questioned by the SSS. This morning I can confirm that the two of them have been released. This is a message sent by one of the publishers, Olawale Dawodu.

"We, Ogbeni Olawale Dawodu and Moji Danisa, of Paparazzi Magazine would like to thank all of you for the massive support we got from you while we were being grilled by the SSS yesterday. We were amazed and touched by the outpouring of love and the pressure put on the security agency to release us. As you all guessed, our invitation and subsequent 10hr session with the SSS, was because of a story published by Paparazzi magazine, titled: Gulak the garrulous. Needless to say, we were accused of 'alleged false publication'...whatever that means. We shall issue a statement soon. Once again we say a big thank you to our friends, fellow pen-pushers, Festus Keyamu, and the multitude who showed so much love and concern to our plight yesterday. God bless you all"
