“As it is now, I am not interested in playing it to him at any kangaroo press conference. Charly Boy believes so much in suing people. We all know he has sued National Mirror and now he wants to sue me too so I’ll just say he should go ahead and sue and we’ll meet in court where the tape will eventually be played for the whole world to hear.”

The clouds had gathered as D’Banj stepped on stage to the admiration of screaming fans who had gathered to watch Nigeria’s best thrill them.
He dragged hip-hop artiste, Ikechukwu to the Marble Arch, Abakaliki, venue of the concert. Several minutes into his performance the clouds gave way to rain. With the exception of a few who scampered for cover, majority of the crowd did not leave the ground. They had gathered in pockets early in the day expressing doubts about the possibility of witnessing D’Banj and other music stars perform for a N200 gate fee.

Popularly called the CFR (Comedian of the Federal Republic) Gbenga Adeyinka will appeal to you as a natural anchor and Comedian. Some years ago, he did not see it like that. He was living his life as a regular worker at a construction firm. A graduate of English from the University of Lagos now has three brands that works for him; Laffmattazz with Gbenga Adeyinka And Friends, Laffmattazz on TV and Gbamu Gbamu. He spoke with me recently.
You always put a lot of energy into your performance particularly on stage, where does all the energy come from?
The fact is that my desire to make people laugh anywhere gives me much energy to do what I know how to do. I don’t like to be in a place where people are not making noise or not shouting or generally making fun. I love to keep where I am as lively as I could. My performance is very natural and in fact, there is no amount of drugs that can induce the kind of excitement that I get when I am on stage. As a matter of fact, been on stage makes me high and the desire to have fun and crack joke make my performance so energetic. Even in the church; I like to make noise, not to talk of been on stage. Those who are saying things like that obviously don’t really know who I am.

What do you think about him wearing this to work
“The 35-year-old Godwin Okon, who works as a house cleaner in the hotel, connived with my house help and did anal sex with my daughter. This man is a professional because at the end of the day nothing happened at the front (vagina). He penetrated my daughter through the anus and gave her his manhood for sucking. The house help, being an accomplice, told my daughter that ‘If you tell your mum, she will spank you,’ so my daughter became scared and she didn’t tell me about the first incident.”
That Julius ‘D Genius’ Agwu, stand up comic, actor, filmmaker and proponent of the fast evolving musi-comedy was born into a poverty-stricken family in Choba, then an obscure village in Rivers State, is no longer fodder for the media. His mother, then a petty trader, knows. And the memory is still very fresh. According to her, theirs was a strict Catholic family comprising two boys, three girls and a pikin as Julius fondly describes himself. Survival was tough but the resilience and steadfastness of the mother helped to see that her kids, especially the very precocious Julius, went to school. “Julius started hawking with his brothers when he was around six years old.
