I may try acting – Idols winner

Radiant and all smiles after she was named the winner of 2012 Idols talent hunt, Mercy Chuwo, did not believe she would finally win the show. In a chat with Box office after she won, she was too excited to speak. “I am glad and happy, I feel so excited. It has been fun, adventure and I am so happy and grateful to God,” she said when asked how she felt after winning.

Did she think she would have won?, she said; “ I would not just give it a yes, but I will say that I had hope that I would come this far. Everybody was my strongest competitor in the competition. It was not easy.

Usually it used to be tense when winners are about to be announced. That moment when they say, “And the winner is”. we asked what was going through her mind at that time  “I just left everything to God and I give all glory to God that I am the winner.

So what was her driving force? “I was committed, determined and focused. I always went for what I actually wanted. I will say to the youth out there to be always being focused and go for what they want.

Now that she had won, she says she has a lot of plans. “The next step is to take music into the next level and also represent Nigeria outside the country. Who knows I might even try acting”

Mercy is from a family of six, and from a polygamous family. She is the first daughter from her mother  who lives with her father with two other wives.
