As entries for the 2014 edition of
the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) themed ‘The Mission’ pour in on the online
registration portal, the traditional rulers in Aguleri Kingdoms in Anambra
State, the host community for the 11th edition of the Ultimate
Search have welcomed the gesture extended to their community and equally
pledged their unalloyed support.
The Royal Fathers expressed their joy
and support for the Show to be hosted on their soil, during courtesy visits to
their Palaces by the GUS Team to officially inform them of the choice of
Aguleri as the host community for the GUS this year.
The Team’s first port of call was at
the Ancient Obu-Gad Iduu, Eri Kingdom, Enugwu Aguleri where His Royal Majesty
(HRM), Eze Chukwuemeka Eri (JP), Ezeora the 34th and Eze Aka ji Ofor
Igbo, expressed joy at the news that Nigerian Breweries had chosen Aguleri as
the host community for their famous TV programme.
He said, “It is heart-warming for me
that a popular brand like Gulder, manufactured by Nigerian Breweries has chosen
to associate with Aguleri, the Ancestral home of the Igbos. We are not only
thankful to them, but also welcome this gesture wholeheartedly”.
The monarch went further to assure
the GUS Team that the community will ensure they have a hitch free stay in
Aguleri and pledged the support of the entire community in hosting the
programme. He emphatically told the Team that after this first experience, the
team will definitely want to come back to Aguleri for another edition.
He however appealed to Nigerian
Breweries to see to it that their sons and daughters are included in the Search
to further give the community a chance of bringing the star prize to Aguleri.
On the security of the contestants
and crew members, The Aka ji Ofor Igbo said, “You have nothing to fear. We will
communicate your presence and mission to every quarter of the kingdom. Our
local vigilante will be there if you ever feel threatened”, adding, “And in any
way you need our assistance be assured you will get it”.
Afterwards the Team proceeded to the
Idigo Palace where they were received by Eze Christopher Nwabunwanne Idigo IV,
the Ogalagidi and Igwe of Aguleri, and his Cabinet. Ogalagidi, as his people
love to call him, thanked the GUS team for their visit and the good tiding they
brought, saying it was a welcome gesture.
