Many companies including South African ones had been easily reapning Nigeria off. Nigerians do not know that there is a body meant to protect them against such reap offs. This is because they usually do little to protect anybody. one would think that by now, MTN would have issued an apology to its million of Nigerian subscribers who it reaped off Billions of Naira yesterday. The Consumer Protection Council has kept quiet all through the day,
while MTN continued with business as usual.
There was a twitter message credited to MTN, it reads: "MTN is aware of the issue of credit deductions on some lines. We are working hard to refund affected customers and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience." but there is no proof the message is from MTN. Just a text message to its customers might have cooled down some tempers. MTN however have been acting like no one can hold them. Meanwhile CPC is doing nothing.
