Why Fred Ade Williams had to die - Africa Magic boss reveals

If like me you were shocked that the key actor in Tinsel Fred Ade Williams died in the soap opera, there is now an explanation for his death. To get answers on why Victor Olaotan, the man who have played Fred Ade Williams for over 4 years had to leave the show, I had to go to the head honcho. I was with the head of Africa Magic, Wangi, Mba-Uzoukwu. I could not help but ask her the big question, why did Fred die? she gave this reason,

"People come and go in dramas. If he did not die, some people will also complain. He is human, he had faced many health conditions and he kept surviving it. This time he was shot, if he survived a gunshot as well, people will start asking if he is superman or Die hard. The feedback we got after he died was so much but it was good for us to get such feedbacks."

I won’t trade intelligence for ignorance, Ibinabo replies Ibu

During the week, Comic actor John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu has asked AGN president Ibinabo Fiberisima to drop her ambition of running for a second term. According to him, about 90% of the association members do not want her as their leader, with many court cases being instituted against her. He says she is still adamant to rule because she is gaining something. His statement continues to get responses from the industry.
"Going for a second term is making the anger in people expand. It is better for her not to come again. She should leave the office and allow another person to try. No progress at all. I am not part of it. As I speak with you, Ibinabo has about two to three court cases. We are tired, we want another person. We should try a new person, let's see what he or she would do. About 90% of the people she is ruling say no, but she insisted. Why? Because she is gaining something," Ibu said in an interview.

Pilot clears air on Rukky Sanda affair

After a picture of the two holding hands at an event went public, there have been talks that Rukky Sanda and IRS pilot, Jamil Abubakar are in a serious relationship. Other pictures of the two have continued to surface online. It was almost sounding like another case of an actress snatching another woman’s man since Abubakar already has a partner. But the pilot has responded to the whole insinuations, he cleared the air with a release saying that he is jut friends with Rukky.
“I am not dating Rukky Sanda. Rukky is my friend, she is like a sister to me. She is an amazing lady and I’ve come to respect her a lot,”  said Abubakar, who is also the son to the Inspector General of Police.

He said further, “The truth is that she has her own date and not me, we just happen to be close. Sometimes, we attend functions and go to eateries together. I guess some overzealous bloggers and media practitioners are just trying to blow things out of proportion, they should learn to get facts before publishing. If one is having an affair, it shouldn’t be something to hide if it’s true. Rukky has the same perception about our friendship as I do. The thought of this rumour actually cracks me up,” Jamil said.

Is Omoni Oboli and Don Jazzy dating?

What does actress Omoni Oboli and Don Jazzy have in common? You might ask. Well, that is the million Dollar question. The entertainers were spotted together at the Don Jazzy owned studio in Lekki, Lagos few days back and the two have been sharing the pictures of each other together on their social network handles.
As you might know, Omoni Oboli is married with kids, so it will be unfair to deduce that there is a love game going on. Omoni Oboli also does not do music or sing in any form, so that also removes the possibility that she is recording a song in Don Jazzy’s studio.
The two have refused to answer questions posed to them on their recent closeness. But a source gave a respond that is plausible. It is gathered that Omoni is working on her own production and Don Jazzy will be featuring in the movie. The producer will also be supplying the sound track to the movie. This explanation is yet to be confirmed by both parties but time will tell what the two are cooking up.

Assemblies of God Church in crisis

Only God knows where we are going in this country. I just read a very sad article. I mean in the midst of all the political and religious tensions, there is also in fighting and violence in churches. Read on

"The crisis in the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, with its polarising effects, took a dangerous dimension, yesterday, as members of the two camps clashed leaving some people wounded.
An attempt by the faction loyal to the Assistant General Superintendent, Rev. Chidi Okoroafor, to hold anti-Paul Emeka meeting at Isiagu Street, Achara Layout branch of the church was the major cause of the clash.
The embattled General Superintendent of the church, Rev. Paul Emeka, and some top members of the church had engaged in a protracted dispute over issues relating to lack of accountability and conspiracy in the church’s leadership.
The anti-Emeka members of the church’s executive committee had slated a meeting yesterday to review the crisis that engulfed the church, following the purported suspension of the General Superintendent by a group in the church.

alex ekubo and ebube nwagbo - CopyNow I want to be an actor. In a release, the actress  expressed anger over the speculation and explained that she has more important issues to handle than having a secret affair with an opposite sex. She also stated that as a blunt person, if such was true, she would have boldly presented the man in her life to the public.
“If I am sleeping with any man, it is not an affair because I am entitled to be married. It cannot become an affair because I am not married and my husband is dead. Secondly, I don’t have any man in my life and I don’t intend to have any man. I have friends and I am entitled to my own friends like you,” she told Nigeriafilms.com.

Actress, Mimi Orjiekwe prefers a rich cheating man.

An average actress will flare up when you suggest that they are all sluts. The truth is, most of them are. That is why they find it hard to explain how they get to build houses worth hundreds of millions of Naira in Lekki and other high-brow areas. Some of them don't even care what you think.
For actress, Mimi Orjiekwe, a rich man who cheats on her regularly is preferable to a faithful man, who is broke. The actress, who posted a picture on her Instagram page with the caption Ladies, a broke faithful man or a rich cheater simply replied by writing, A rich cheater..Cos a broke faithful man will still cheat someday! Meaning money is all she thinks of in a man.
Supporting Mimi’s claims, her colleague, Adaora Ukoh simply wrote, “No man can stay faithful…. COPY DAT…” after much bashing from fans Mimi later rephrased her decision saying, “Well I luv both..so far we luv each other.“
Mimi is allegedly engaged to one of her colleagues, Charles Billion and is yet to tie the nuptial knots despite the tail that the two had quietly sealed their union.

How I escaped out of Kano - Amaechi (His detailed experience)

The gov of Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi in this release by his aide described how he escaped from the hands of state security.
"After visiting Governor Kwankwaso, myself and other dignitaries, made for the Aminu Kano Airport where our chartered aircraft was parked. Immediately we entered the airport buildings preparatory to boarding the plane back to Abuja, authorities locked all the doors to the complex, holding me and my colleagues hostage. The Kano governor called the airport commandant that we should at least be allowed to leave the building but the commandant refused saying he had an order from above not to let us out. We had to force one of the doors open to get away. After we escaped from the airport, we devised a means of hurrying out of Kano for fear that we might be attacked by thugs sponsored by the federal government. So we quickly got a car, bought fuel and started driving towards Abuja.

Ibinabo's respectful but vicious reply to Clarion Chukwurah

The AGN president just sent this in. You might remember, veteran actress, Clarion Chukwura recently condemned her over her visit to the president among other issues. This is Ibinabo's response, and it packs a punch.

My Dear Chief Clarion Chukwurah,
I bring you peace and warm felicitation from the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), a Guild that I would like for the purpose of emphasis to re-describe as the only umbrella body for Screen Actors in Nollywood, with a conservative estimate of over five million members spread across 35 states in Nigeria including FCT Abuja.
I bring you greetings from the leadership of a Guild that has in the last two years been repositioned as the pride of its members, Nollywood and the foremost Guild in the continent of Africa.
I was away on a short vacation when my attention was drawn to two publications (one an open letter and the other an interview) credited to your very respected self, where you cast a lot of aspersions on myself and where you resorted, because of your inordinate ambition to become President of the Guild, to feeding the general public with deceit and falsehood.
Ordinarily I would not have replied you openly, because I personally do not join issues with my colleagues- whether junior or senior on the pages of the paper or on social media. Besides, as President, I should be seen to be uniting Members of the Guild and not causing disaffection, as your unfortunate outburst set out to do.

You can now rent films on DSTV

Last week, MultiChoice officially launched a movie rental service for Nigerians. The service is called BoxOffice and according to what we gathered, it was aimed to provide subscribers of DSTV with the ultimate in home television entertainment. BoxOffice allows subscribers to rent and watch the latest blockbuster movies in the comfort of their homes, right on their DStv Explora decoders.
The major advantage according to the tv house is that Box Office will solve the problem of piracy for Nigerian movie makers. if movie makers give their movies to DSTV to rent to viewers on DSTV, it does not need to go through marketers anymore and will no longer be sold on the street. It will only be on Box office. That ways copies cannot be made illegally.
