First bank supports student's trade fair


As part of efforts aimed at promoting youth development initiatives, First Bank of Nigeria Plc. is partnering Strands Communications Ltd, a resource development and event management company, to sponsor the yearly Student Trade Fair in five tertiary institutions — Yaba College of Technology, University of Benin, University of Port-Harcourt, University of Calabar and University of Lagos.
Since it first held in 2006, this mega-event has evolved as Nigeria’s largest show of its kind and has risen over the years to enjoy a high reputation as the most popular event amongst youths and students for discounted shopping and opportunity to interact one on one with providers of products and services they consume.
The event provides a common platform for manufacturers, traders, retailers, innovators and service providers the opportunity to showcase their goods and service to students and populace within and around the university metropolis. Activities lined during the fair include: Sales and Exhibition, Raffle Draw, Singing and Dancing Competitions, Sponsors Products/Brand Enlightenment and a Show.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Mr. Alafia Gbadebo, Managing Director Strands Communications Ltd, said First Bank has, over the years, been supportive of youth development initiatives amongst the Nigeria youths,which constitute close to 60% of the Nigerian consuming populace
“There is therefore, no better environment for product promotion than a trade fair within the ambit of a higher institution,” he said
