Last Saturday, the R&R event center at IBB road in Uyo was buzzing with activities as the Make-up and beautify fair was in full swing. The vent which has been going around the country had it’s Uyo leg well attended by exhibitors and customers alike.
According to Pops and concept and publication limited, the organisers of the fair, the fair is an opportunity for make-up and beauty professionals to come under one umbrella to do business. “The event started last year with Abuja, we have been to Owerri, we are in Pothacourt and we will do the last of the series in Lagos in December. We realised that when we when to Porthacourt, there were a lot of people coming in from Uyo and they were even requesting for us to come to Uyo, so we decided to take the risk of coming here.

We are surprised with the turn-up here. We thought it was a laid back city and we will not get this kind of attendance. We are shocked by the turn out. We even have people coming in from places like Aba and Calabar to attend,” said Omolola Faleye the boss of Pops concept.
She also explains that make-up and beauty professionals really do not have a platform. “We have decided to go round the country to get members together and have events just like this one so that we can have a platform. We also have what we call the make-up and beauty connect series which is more like a networking event to bring professionals in the business together to rub minds and share experiences. What we need now is for sponsors and corporate bodies in our line of business to take advantage of what we are doing,” faleye concluded.
