Call it a double celebration, you may not have been too far wrong because it wasn’t just a night to celebrate both famous TV hosts - Uti Nwachukwu and Labi Olayori - it was also the former’s birthday on Saturday August the 3rd. Fans and friends rocked the dancing floor and toasted to the health of Uti, the winner of the fifth edition of Africa’s biggest TV reality show, 'Big Brother Africa All Stars.'
There's no doubt, the third and Lagos’ last edition of the monthly Nigerian Broadcasters Nite (NBN) was a huge success! The mammoth crowd that throbbed at the Club Vegas, the venue of the event, not only confirmed the growing popularity of the monthly gig; it showed how popular and hugely loved the pair of Uti and Labi really were.

Aside from the electrifying performances from tested and trusted emerging music talents like Porshkayiana, T-Quest, Tokunbo Chord, Kesh Ofuobi and others, DJ Chascolee, the NBN’s official DJ, showed some class and proved his spitfire mettle. Chascolee got everyone dancing till dawn!
First to feel the ‘Hot Seat’ was the runway model turned TV presenter, Labi Olayori. The delectable host of TVC’s popular programme, ‘Entertainment Splash’, perfectly handled both the good, and the naughty questions she was asked, and she could not conceal her joy when she was presented the ‘Certificate of Honour’ for being crowned the NBMA’s Most Popular TV Presenter in Nigeria.
The event, which was hosted by the ace comedian, De-Don, reached climax point when the birthday boy, Uti Nwachukwu sauntered into the hall. The model, singer, actor/presenter not only caused a stampede, but good-looking Uti got all girls screaming on top of their voices.
Uti was serenaded with a birthday song by fans and friends, and was presented with a special birthday cake, courtesy of Villa Alero, the newest wine in town. The special activities to mark Uti's special day were capped by the presentation of his Certificate of Honour for emerging as the NBMA’s Sexiest On-Air Personality in Nigeria.
The memorable night had in attendance popular broadcasters, top On-Air Personalities and showbiz bigwigs, like Mrs Alero Deujj (Villa Alero), Klint de Drunk and wife, Weird MC, Lady B and husband, D’Lyte, DJ Stramborella -who also performed, African China, MC Senator, and Mr. Lecturer among other notable faces who joined Uti’s large entourage, including fans and friends, tagged ‘Team Uti, for the celebration.
The Nigerian Broadcaster’s Nite holds every last Saturday of the month when two winners of the yearly Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA)are selected and hosted at one of the biggest lounges/clubs in the state.
However, as the fourth in the series of the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards, which is been slated for November, draws near, the moving train of Nigerian Broadcasters’ Nite has departed Lagos for Ibadan and will soon also make a stopover in Abuja, Portharcout and Owerri.
The Nigerian Broadcasters Nite is powered by The Reality Entertainment, in association with Crown Natures Nigeria Limited, and V-Channel.
