be popular in such a short time – Davido
The impression is that Davido is a snub, a spoilt child who
lays around with ladies and parties all the time. It was with this impression
that Hazeez Balogun went to have a one on one interview session with him at a
Hotel in Lekki where he is lodged. Davido turned out to be the opposite. He
stepped out from the hall where he was having a rehearsal with his crew. His
publicist said he had been practicing for hours. David Adedeji Adeleke turned
out to be a disciplined, hardworking and respectful 19 years old artiste who is
handling fame quite ordinarily. This interview was done a day before his O.B.O

Drummer, Ara's mum almost eaten by cannibal
If
you want to know to what length a mother would go for a child on the verge of
seeming self-destruct, ask Alhaja Monsurat Olumuyiwa, the mother of acclaimed
talking drummer, Aralola, the story of how she almost fell victim to convicted,
infamous man-eater, Clifford Orji, because of Ara. Some days before the lid was
blown off his nefarious activities, Olumuyiwa had typically gone in search of
Ara who had made the studios around their neighbourhood her second home. While
recalling her stories of sacrifices and sufferings and narrow escape on this
week’s edition of the Supermom Celebrity show, she says, “All her brothers are
graduates; she was the only one who said she was dropping out of school to
concentrate on music. I and her father could not reconcile with that because
she could have acquired whatever degree she wanted but Ara chose music.”

DJ Tee's ex-wife joins Spinlet
Joke
Jaiyesimi, the former Hip TV producer and later Soundcity honcho, is now one of
the people running Spinlet, the digital
distribution company headed by whizkid Eric Idiahi. she also used to be the wife of DJ Tee who recently was implicated in a stabbing case.
Sources say
Joke, who had worked at MBI, before
founding Music Africa with Phillip
Trimnell, is now the Creative director at Spinlet, and that she's one of the
reasons many Nigerian artistes are warming up to the company.
Why Goldie crashed and cried out
The major reason why Goldie was booted out was the lack of votes from her own country. Nigeria’s Goldie was evicted from Upville after receiving the fewest country votes from the continent. Goldie and Prezzo have had an emotional time in the house and after a mammoth fight on Sunday afternoon, the pair saw their time together come to an end on Sunday evening.
So will You continue watching Big Brother after Goldie's exit? take our poll on the side of the page.
Kyle picked up 6 country votes, Prezzo 4 and Lady May 3 to Goldie’s 2. Kyle found himself up for eviction after Head of House Keagan saved himself and put the Ugandan up for eviction in his place.
Liberian star DJ Blue (HOTT FM 107.9) kept the Big Brother studio pumping as IK gave viewers a reminder of what had gone down in the house this week. Tensions are running high in the house now that the housemates are playing as individuals and the sniping levels are at record levels. There’s been a lot of discussion about Malonza’s relationships in the house, with even his brother Alex weighing in on his recent flirtation with Junia. The “Superheroes vs Villains” task saw Big Brother kidnapped, and the housemates having to deal with Bad Brother – but ultimately winning their task. Keagan and Wati were also placed on Final Warning after their behaviour went south after hitting the bottle too hard.

DId Tinsel sack Ziggy (Kunle Coker)
From what
we gather, a storm is brewing amongst the Tinsel family. Some of the actors we
hear are not happy with the MNet, the producers of the award winning soap
opera. From indications, some actors have made their grievances known to the
media outfit.
Though details
is yet unknown, some actors are not happy that their status are not upgraded in
the show despite their long time participation in the show. One of the actors who
craved anonymity disclosed that despite the fact that he takes more roles than
others, he is still regarded as a day actor and pay is far less than those who
takes on smaller roles.
Weekend special. BBA: Nigeria’s Golden egg
When it was announced that she will be joining the
Bigbrother house, there was mixed feelings about her decision. MNET was not
clear about the roles of the stars in the house so many just watched and waited
to see what Goldie was up to. By the time it was clear that they were regular
house mates just like the others, Goldie being part of the show was no longer
an issue. In fact Nigerians did not see her as a flag bearer at first. Goldie
was not the only one in such fix.

Why I am into acting – Kas
In a yet to be titled and yet to be released film, hip hop
music icon, Kas will be playing the lead role. Not even a supporting role. The
musician was caught on set, and did not have a choice than to explain himself.
According to him, he would have loved it to be a surprise for his fans but now
the cat has been let out of the bag.
In a phone chat, Kas explained that acting has always been
his passion. He says that writing music and acting has a lot in common, and
that is why he found it easy to do a good job with the movie. “it is a big deal
for me. It is a challenge and I like challenges. I am playing a prince warrior,
a character called Ugandi. It was easy for me because I was just being myself.
There was a fighting part where I have to use swords, guess what, I have swords
of my own, and I pretty much know how to use one. There was a stunt man that
was brought to play the action part. The man ended up doing nothing because I
nailed the parts. I will be acting more and directing.”

How senator Gyang was shot dead
Gunmen killed a federal senator and a state lawmaker in Nigeria’s troubled Plateau state on Sunday at a mass burial for the victims of an earlier attack. Local officials said the killings were a suspected reprisal attack by local herdsmen involved in a long-running vendetta over land but the head of Nigeria’s senate spoke of an assassination.
“The senator representing Plateau North, Gyang Dantong, and the majority leader of the state assembly, Gyang Fulani, were gunned down today by Fulani herdsmen,” said Pam Ayuba, spokesman for the state’s governor. He added that the two were killed while attending the burial for the victims of a Saturday raid, also blamed on the Fulani, a tribe made up of Muslim, pastoralist herdsmen. Another federal lawmaker “escaped death by a whisker,” during the Sunday attack, Ayuba added. Senator Dalyop, a medical doctor by training was elected to the Senate in 2007 was born on March 2nd 1957.

Weekend exclusive: I have no problem with MI - Audu Maikori's interview.
What makes me tick -
Audu Maikori
Though Audu was born
with a silver spoon, he is not the one to be lazy and laid back. Born to Adamu
Maikori, a renowned lawyer and politician, he climbed the ladder of success
almost by himself. A lawyer by education, Audu is more known for his
involvements in entertainment and the Nigerian youth. Today he is part of the
committee in charge of subsidy reinvestment. He is also on the board of the
Copyright Society of Nigeria. These are just a few of his affiliations. He welcomed
Senior correspondent, Hazeez Balogun to his Victoria Island office recently for
a chat
You studied law in
school, would you have thought you would also be involved in entertainment?
It is not really a surprise. From my background there are a
lot of indications that law will not be my only calling. My father is a lawyer
as well but he was into a lot of other things. He was in the Airforce, he was
in banking, politics, and all sort of things. It is part of my up bringing not
to just put all my eggs in one basket.

Big breasts big wahala
Women with bigger breasts DO have higher risk of breast cancer, finds genetic study
Women with a large bust may be more likely to develop breast cancer, according to scientists.
A study of 16,000 women found genetic mutations associated with breast size were also linked to the disease.
Researchers say some of these are involved in regulating the female sex hormone oestrogen, which can trigger the growth of both breasts and tumours.
While research has linked breast density – the amount of non-fat tissue – to an increased risk of cancer, there has been little evidence of a link with breast size before.
Participants in the study, carried out by a US company, were asked to give their bra size on a 10-point scale from smaller than AAA to larger than DDD.
The genetic code of the women – all of European origin – was read by scientists who looked through millions of tiny mutations in their DNA, called single-nucleotide polymorphisms. Out of seven that were strongly linked to breast size, three were also associated with breast cancer.

Shan George swallows her words
Top actress, Shan George has described a statement
attributed to her as a misquote. She had last week in a n interview with a
website used strong words against many of her colleagues which she says sleeps
around. In the interview she had pointed accusing fingers mostly at some
“married actresses” who she says still sleeps around for money. George accused
her married colleagues of sleeping around like dogs.
Also in the interview she was quoted as saying that her
colleagues are lured into bed with money by top politicians and businessmen and
that the same people go about claiming to be happily married.
In another interview this week, she has retracted most of
her statements and consider them as being quoted out of context. Her rants came
just days after she premiered her movie, 'Finding Goodluck'.
"Jesus! That's the worst mudslinging technique I've
ever experienced. I've been in Nollywood for 14 years. So is it now that I'm
seeing the Nollywood wives? That's so crappy for someone to quote a childish
caption like that on me," she said on phone.
Court finally throws out Jim Iykes fraud case
Yesterday, the fraud case against actor Jim Iyke was withdrawn
from the court. This is coming after both him and the plaintiff, Hajia Abubakar
had resolved to an amicable settlement. On the withdrawal of the case by the plaintiff,
Chief magistrate Azubuike Okegu of an Abuja high court dismissed the case.
Prior to the withdrawal, in what seems like a frustrated
rant, Jim Iyke the former toast of Nigerian movies has lashed out to critics
and those he described as haters. He did this on his Twitter page which her
regularly updates. It came as a shock to his followers on the social media to
see as he continues to post tweet after tweet in anger. Most of his posts
bordered on his debt issues which have been like a torn in his flesh in recent
times. This comes after he had signed an undertaking that he would pay N200,000
every month for the next 4 and a half years to cover for his N16.5m debt.
He described the Tweets as shout-outs. The first one read,
“Shout out to all the sociopaths that come unto hardworking brothers with bogus
biz formats then resort to blackmail when they don’t get laid.” Some believe
this tweet must be referring to the plaintiff Hajiya Habiba Abubakar.
