This man was caught with 500gms of heroine at MMA

A United States of America-bound Nigerian with 500 grammes of heroin has been arrested by the operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
The 43-year-old trader, Nnadume Jude Ewelle, according to the NDLEA, was arrested in connection with an attempt to illicitly smuggle the 500 grammes of heroin found on him into the United States.
Ewelle was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, during screening, prior to boarding a Lufthansa airline flight.
During the routine search, 30 wraps of substances that tested positive for heroin, weighing 500 grammes, were found inside the breast pocket of his jacket inside his hand luggage.
The suspect, whose final destination is Dallas in the United States of America, had perfected his plan to outsmart security agents during screening.

“Nnadume Jude Ewelle was found with 30 wraps of heroin hidden in the breast pocket of his jacket, which was inside his hand luggage. We also found two tickets with him. Apart from the valid ticket to the United States, there was also a fake Turkish Airline ticket indicating Lagos to Pakistan. This was to divert attention from him taking drugs into United States,” Hamza Umar, NDLEA Airport Commander explained.
During interrogation, Ewelle said that he wanted to raise money for his business and that he had no helper.
While attempting to justify his criminal act, the suspect said that Nigeria Customs Service officials impounded his goods worth N10 million, adding: “I have suffered several setbacks in life.
"My major problem was when Customs officials impounded my containers of fairly used tyres worth N10 million.
"This trip was to enable me realise some good money for my business.”
The anti-drug agency however refuted Ewelle's claim as investigation revealed that he actually invested N2 million into the illicit drug transaction.
The Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, advised members of the public to resist temptations to raise capital from drugs.
“It is morally wrong for anyone to turn to drug trafficking as a means of getting capital to start business. The Agency will continue to invoke relevant sections of the NDLEA Act against offenders,” Giade warned.
Nnadume is married with a child.
He attended Agulu-Awka Primary School, Awka, Anambra State, where he finished in 1983.
He could not further his education, according to him, due to financial difficulty.
The suspect sells shirts at Onitsha Main Market.
He made his first trip to the United States in 2010.
Nnadume had also lived in France for five years in search of better conditions of living.
